What do General Electric, Chase Manhattan Bank, Boehringer Ingelheim and 150 other corporations and private groups have in common? They have creatively used the services of the Sherry Winston Band to enhance their corporate image.
General Electric presented Sherry and her Band in concert to help recruit Black engineers at the National MBA Conference in New Orleans. Sherry’s music attracted the engineers to her concert where G.E. employees set up one on one meetings.Sherry delivered her catchy tunes while interweaving the G.E. message to the targeted audience.
Boehringer-Ingelheim's "Pharmaton" division sponsored Sherry in a summer outdoor concert, where she talked about Pharmatons’ vitamins and herbal supplements. Pharmaton literature was available at Sherry’s display table.
Chase Manhattan Bank sponsored the SW Band in a summer jazz series of six concerts in the inner cities of Connecticut.
These concerts were partnered with community groups, which helped to promote the series.
Champion sponsored Sherry’s 3-week performances at the 1996 Olympics where she entertained Champions guests. Champion purchased Sherry’s CD’s for 500 guests who had their CD’s personally autographed.
